Early set of Ilmari Tapiovaara "Pirkka" dining table and set of four chairs for Laukaan Puu, Finland circa 1955. 'Pirkka' chair by Ilmari Tapiovaara for Laukaan Puu, Finland. Designed in 1955. The Pirkka chair is made entirely of solid wood and combines a birch frame with a pine seat and back. The clean lines of the pine elements contrast strikingly with the rounded, tapered contours of the frame. The chair has the burn mark on the bottom of the seat. Made in the 1950s. The chairs are in their original used condition.

Materials: Beech, pine

Condition: Signs of age and use. Legs were likely repainted and tops refinished over the years. Nice even aged patina. Minor nicks and scratching throughout. Structurally sound.
