Designed in 1969 by architect Jacques Henri Varichon for Steiner, the "Galaxie" chair is a masterclass in structural ingenuity. This piece features a natural canvas seat suspended by an intricate system of tension wires, all cleverly concealed within tubular steel bars and aluminum end caps. Its architectural integrity is maintained by four threaded rods and dual couplings that brace the cable network. Beyond its striking profile, the chair offers an unexpectedly comfortable sit with a smooth, lateral rocking motion.

Condition Good vintage condition showing wear consistent with age, including minor scuffs and scratches throughout. Typical oxidation to the frame. Steel wire slightly loose to the corners. A few minor breaks to stitching. Rich patina to leather.
